  • Beginner Instrument classes and Band practices return to Simon Fraser University on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 7:00pm.
  • The RMM Pipe Band has concluded its Beginner Instrument programs for the 2009-2010 season and is nearing the completion of the BCPA (www.bcpipers.org) competition season as well.  RMMPB would like to thank all of our friends and supporters for their continued assistance this year, especially the Government of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University who are significant benefactors of all our programs.

Our Programs:  Under the direction of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, the Beginner Instrument and Jr. Band program offers youth aged 6-17 years an opportunity to learn bagpipes, side, tenor and bass drums every Tuesday night from September through June at the Burnaby Mountain campus of Simon Fraser University.

In addition to these programs, RMM also offers an introduction to Music program for children ages 6-7 which is a music theory based program rather than one involving instruments.
All classes are taught by SFU Pipe Band players or senior players from within the ranks of the SFUPB organization.

  • To celebrate 15 years of teaching and competitive successes for the RMM organization, the Grade 3 Pipe Band which has been World Juvenile Champions four times, have recorded a CD with 12 tracks of traditional and contemporary arrangements, including a classic Alex Duthart fanfare, a suite from Mark Saul, hornpipes from Gordon Duncan, and several great MSR tunes. BUY IT HERE.

  • Follow the RMM Pipe Band events on our Flickr photo site.

RMM would like to thank our SFU Pipe Band instructors and mentors for another outstanding season and wish them the best of luck as they travel to the 2010 World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland this August!

Parents wishing to enrol their children in one of our fall programs: Introduction to Music (6-7 yrs), Beginner Instruments (8-15/16 yrs) or seek further information about our programs/band, please email Rob Watt.
